Synopsis: Many Israelis still wax nostalgic about that old Friday afternoon ritual, back when television had just one channel. Everyone would watch the Arab movie of the week, but how was Israel's official TV station able to transcend hostile boundaries to obtain these films, and why did they show movies made by a nation at war with Israel? These Arabic-language movies from Egypt let some Israelis escape back to their original homelands, and let others catch a glimpse of neighbors across the border. "Arabic Movie" brings back the stars and the songs, the convoluted plots, and that fleeting moment when Israelis shared the same cultural heroes as everyone else in the Middle East. (60 mins)
